Meet Awonder

Macro thesis

Personalized AI content is going mainstream

As AI creation becomes easier and more accurate, we believe AI-generated content will make up a growing share of what people share.

AWonder product thesis

AI image creation can be a new way to socialize

We believe demand is currently underserved by fragmented creation tools and social platforms built for other experiences. AWonder brings personal exploration, collaborative AI creation, and low-pressure sharing together, making room for new ways to play and connect.

Overall respondents

Macro thesis

62% of respondents were neutral to very interested in creating AI images of themselves, with 25% very interested. 63% had created an AI image in the last three months, but only 20% had shared one on social media.

Nationally, more Americans are using chatbots: about half of U.S. adults now use AI chatbots, up from a third in 2024, and 24% use them to create or edit images or videos.

Awonder product thesis

If tools made it easier to socially engage with personalized AI content, incremental demand for AI-generated content will be unlocked. We believe demand is currently underserved by fragmented creation tools and social platforms built for other experiences.

28% of respondents said not knowing which tool to use or too much effort held them back from joining AI image trends.

47% were interested in creating images of themselves. Of those, 43% held back an image because sending it directly felt awkward or unnecessary, and 27% because it didn’t fit what they usually post on social media.

Awonder brings personal exploration, collaborative AI creation, and low-pressure sharing together, making room for new ways to play and connect. 43% of respondents were likely to try such a product, with 23% very likely.

$150K+ household income

Our thesis was more supported by a higher-income cohort.

Macro thesis

Among respondents with household incomes of $150K+, 76% were neutral to very interested in creating AI images of themselves (vs. 62% overall), and 46% were very interested (vs. 25%). 81% had created an AI image in the last three months (vs. 63%), but only 24% had shared one on social media (vs. 20%). That leaves a large gap between creating and sharing.

Awonder product thesis

Among $150K+ respondents, 36% said not knowing which tool to use or too much effort held them back from joining AI image trends (vs. 28% overall).

68% of this cohort were interested in creating images of themselves (vs. 47%). Of those, 58% held back an image because sending it directly felt awkward or unnecessary (vs. 43%), and 27% because it didn’t fit what they usually post on social media (in line with the 27% overall).

61% of $150K+ respondents were likely to try a product combining personal exploration, collaborative creation, and low-pressure sharing (vs. 43% overall), with 42% very likely (vs. 23%).

Interest in creating AI images of yourself: 47% of overall respondents and 68% of respondents with household incomes of $150K or more were interested; 25% overall and 46% in the $150K-plus cohort were very interested.
Creating versus sharing AI images in the past three months: 63% overall and 81% of the $150K-plus cohort created an AI image, while 20% overall and 24% of the $150K-plus cohort shared one on social media.
Reasons for holding back that Awonder directly solves, overall versus the $150K-plus cohort: sending directly felt awkward or unnecessary, 30% versus 42%; content did not fit usual social posts, 24% versus 29%; no suitable audience or place to share it, 15% versus 20%; and uncertainty that the person pictured wanted it shared, 10% versus 14%.
